Battery Drainage and Self-Switching Issues

Analyzing causes of self-switching that can cause battery drain

Problem description:
The Liberty head may switch on by itself, causing premature battery drainage.

Possible causes:

  • Flooded handset connector
  • Firmware bug causing self-switching
  • Faulty pressure sensor module

Step-by-step troubleshooting:

  • Update to the latest firmware version
  • Check handset connectors for flooding or corrosion, clean them using soft tissue, white winegar and q-tips if necessary.
  • If the Liberty starts into the dive mode, check syslog immediately after the spurious power on - watch for the cause of the start.
    • To check the syslog, enter the Service menu, then select Syslog and check last startup event.
    • If you see a Start cause "Dive" then start with replacing pressure sensor modules

When to contact service: If the head continues self-switching then please report an Issue using the DivesoftApp, mention the dates and times of last spurious power on and include the divelogs and syslogs.
