Handset Connector Blind Plug Leaks
Preventing and fixing handset connector blind plug leaks
Problem description:
A defective blind plug O-ring may allow water ingress, leading to leaks, potential connector corrosion or spurious wakeup condition.
Possible causes:
- O-ring wear or improper installation.
- Physical damage to the plug or sealing surface.
Step-by-step troubleshooting:
- Inspect the blind plug O-ring for cracks, flat spots, or debris.
- Replace the O-ring with a new, original Divesoft spare if available.
- Ask Divesoft about alternate o-ring sizes, the new generation of blind plugs uses thicker o-rings than before.
- Check sealing surfaces for scratches before reassembly.
- If the connector shows signs of advanced pin corrosion and you are unable to clean them using a toothbrush, consider contacting a closest Service Technician.
