Preventing and fixing handset connector blind plug leaks

Problem description:
A defective blind plug O-ring can allow water ingress, leading to leaks, connector corrosion, or spurious wakeup conditions.

Possible causes:

  • O-ring wear, aging, or improper installation.
  • Physical damage to the plug or sealing surface.

Step-by-step troubleshooting:

  • Inspect the blind plug O-ring for cracks, flat spots, or debris.
  • Replace the O-ring with a new, genuine Divesoft spare part.
  • Contact Divesoft to confirm the correct O-ring size for your blind plug generation, as newer blind plugs use a thicker O-ring than earlier models.
  • Inspect all sealing surfaces for scratches, nicks, or debris before reassembly, and lightly lubricate the new O-ring with silicone grease.
  • If the connector shows signs of severe pin corrosion that cannot be removed with a soft toothbrush, contact your nearest Divesoft-authorised Service Technician.
