Troubleshooting improbable dive depth readings in Freedom Computer

Issue:
Divesoft Freedom indicates depth when on the surface, unable to exit the dive mode.

Instruction:

  1. If the Freedom indicates depths 0.2 to 1m below surface (1 to 3 feet), it may be caused by combination of out-of-date firmware and entering the water without powering on the Freedom prior.
  2. In case your Freedom enters dive mode when connecting or disconnecting from the charger, than this is transitional behavior only. Follow proper charging procedure - connect the cable to the Freedom first, then to the USB charger or PC.
  3. If the Freedom powers on spuriously or starts diving on the surface, even shows unrealistic depth, then submit new service request and return the computer to the closest service point servicing Freedom computers.
