Handset Button Not Responding

Troubleshooting unresponsive handset buttons and startup issues

Problem description:
The Liberty handset buttons may stop responding or fail to operate. In some cases, the handset does not start or is stuck in bootloader mode.

Possible causes:

  • Mechanical button wear or failure.
  • Button sensor failure.

Step-by-step troubleshooting:

  • Restart the Liberty by removing the battery jumpers, and check if buttons respond after a full power cycle.
  • Inspect the handset for visible mechanical damage or stuck buttons.
  • If the handset starts  immediately in the bootloader mode and shows a "CRC OK" text, then a stuck button may be the culprit.
  • Connect to Divesoft Center and attempt a firmware reload if possible.

When to contact service: If buttons remain unresponsive, the handset requires repair. Submit a service form and send it in for technician assessment.
