Resolving connection issues between handset a CU

Issue:
The Liberty handset or ODA shows red crosses instead of battery symbols, "connection lost" alarm.

Instruction:

  1. Perform a cold start of the Liberty - remove and replace the battery jumpers.
  2. If you see only one red cross, then the issue is localized to only one CU / half.
    1. Check that you have your oxygen block inserted, have both battery jumpers present and both accumulators charged.
  3. If you see two red crosses, then the issue is likely between your handset and the CU - most likely a connector, cable or a mismatched FW issue.
    1. Check the Handset or ODA connector for oxidation and a cable for damage - a cut, kink or a tear.
    2. Try connecting a different handset. If only one is available, connect the existing handset to the other side of the head and attempt to start the unit.
    3. Check your HUD or Buddy display for indication. If the HUD is indicating purple or purple blinking, then the CU may be stuck in bootloader, try uploading the firmware using USB adapter and DivesoftCenter.
